Our fintech client processes more than 3 billion credit and debit card transactions a year for over 350,000 merchant locations across North America. In an industry that is constantly changing, our client is leading the way with innovative services that ease transaction processing today, while ensuring a superior value proposition for the future.

In order to move its ACH Strategy forward, our client teamed up with Aurionpro to leverage their dedicated ‘payments’ team to provide them with expert-level Payments Advisory Services, specifically focusing on ACH. The challenge was to define a strategy for merging outsourced U.S. based credit-card processing tools and technologies into a full-service, in-house ACH solution for Canadian operations.

The engagement began with a series of interviews to gather information from various stakeholder groups from within our client’s business, including Underwriting, Gateway Technology, Operations, Risk Management, Fraud Prevention, and Support. Aurionpro then performed a detailed Gap/Map analysis of the company’s existing systems, which included a highly complex and distributed environment that leveraged a large number of tools and processes outsourced to TSYS, First Data, and GETI.

The Gap/Map analysis classified individual components targeted for new development, leverage, or reuse, and formed the foundation for a full-blown ACH solution recommendation covering features, processes, policies, operations, and support. Aurionpro also provided detailed cost and timeline estimates for in-house development versus a buy-and-integrate strategy, which revealed a savings potential of more than 60% for in-house ACH services versus the existing outsourced approach.
